New model PS Vita and Vita TV Announced!

After dropping the price of the current model Vita, Sony have announced a newer, slimmer model. The new model is said to have reverted back to a PSP type LCD screen instead of the more expensive, yet sharper OLED display. It's also thinner and has an extended battery life. No word yet on a western release date but rest assured it will be coming soon.
In more Vita related news, Sony also announces the Vita TV. Which is essentially a Vita with no screen that you plug into your TV and use a Dual Shock PS3 controller for. The downside is however, that not all Vita games are compatible due to the omission of the touch pad which is usually on the back of the hardware. Sony have said that all PS1, PC engine and PSP classics will work fine. The price is similar to that of a standard Vita which has left many gamers wondering why they bothered. For me, I think it's an interesting concept and would jump at the chance to buy one of these if the price dropped a little.
