Another week another scam to try to free you of your hard earned dollars. This one is particularly nasty however as it looks almost identical to the Australian Tax Office Website. Again they are asking for your personal details and also sending attachments through your email. There is a rule with email attachments that I live by... IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS THEN DO NOT OPEN IT. Even if it is from a friend!.
Remember, the ATO will never ask you for personal details except your login on their official site. If you look in the address bar and see an IP address instead of the Tax Website address, close your browser immediately and scan for spyware and malware.
