So the new major feature is now emotions. Yes I know your sims may have had emotion before but that was directly linked to their needs. Now your sims can be influenced emotionally by music, setting, or even their own house layout! These emotions can be used to manipulate your sims in social events and other interactions with other sims.
The Sims 4 will also feature a new AI script called "Smart sims" which makes sims think a lot more for themselves creating a more realistic interaction with the world around them.
Another reworked feature is the creation tools. Entire rooms can be moved at will with furnishings intact and the character creator is even more robust allowing you to create sims to look more how you want them to.
